Privacy policy
Your privacy matters to us. This page describes what information is handled when you browse Find Plumber AU (findplumberau.com), and the choices available to you.
Who we are Find Plumber AU is an independent online directory of Australian plumbing, gasfitting and hot water businesses, operated by Selim Akcan (contactable at [email protected]). We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
What we collect — and what we do not We do not ask visitors to register, and we do not run quote forms that capture your job details. The only information our servers receive is what every web server receives automatically: your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the time of your visit. These server logs are used for security and capacity planning. Business listings shown on the site (trading names, addresses, phone numbers, reviews) are compiled from publicly available Google Maps entries and relate to businesses, not to our visitors.
Advertising and cookies To keep the directory free, pages may display advertising. Advertising partners, including Google, may set cookies so that the ads you see reflect your interests. You can adjust or opt out of ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com, and you can block or delete cookies entirely in your browser settings — the directory works fine without them.
Reviews and business information If you are a tradesperson and a review or listing about your business appears on this site, that content originates from public Google Maps data. You can ask us to correct or remove a listing by emailing [email protected].
Your rights and complaints Under the APPs you may request access to, or correction of, personal information we hold. If you believe we have mishandled your information, contact us first; if you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Third parties Links to plumbers' own websites and to Google Maps lead to services with their own privacy practices, which we do not control.
