Home efficiency group have been great to deal with from quoting to confirming the order and installation of our top-up insulation. They were prompt and efficient in all facets of our purchase. HEG were very thorough and quick to quote, inform and install my solar rooftop system. They added extras in like a hot water timer and heat pump service, saving energy in the long term. The price was super competitive and the service outstanding.

We have used HEG on 2 properties now - solar and heat pump for one, and solar/heat pump/battery for the more recent. The products they promote have all been reliable, with the only major issue being the back-up on the new Sungrow battery install failing the first time we had a blackout (we have been assured this is fixed, however until we have another blackout??). The sales team are efficient, friendly, and seem ready to listen before giving advice, however be mindful that HEG outsource for the installs, and this is where you can find miscommunication and other issues arise. For example the solar installer at the first property left bits of the old solar system on our roof which ended up washing into our gutters and pipes resulting in minor water damage, a difficult task in locating the blockage, and additional costs to repair.. With the second property our TV antenna was (unexpectedly) removed instead of being reposition, and this took a lot of persistent followup on my behalf before a mutually agreed outcome was finally reached (they paid for new one and I reinstalled myself). That said, we are pleased to be dealing with a local company that seems to do a serviceable job in keeping up with the latest advances in technology, of which there are many. Shaun in after sales support has been particularly helpful in resolving any outstanding issues. Don't waste your time trying to email - phone calls are best.

We recently had a heat transfer unit installed in our home. We spoke with Gus at HEG and his suggestion for added comfort in our home was to instal this unit. The company was very professional, answered our calls and attended to our queries in a very timely manner. The electrician and the guys who came and installed the system were a great team and carried out their work in a very professional manner. Our thanks to all the team at HEG the system is amazing.

Summary: Ben is a lovely guy, but his knowledge of solar, communication and timeliness leaves much to be desired. - Turned up for the quote 20 minutes early, interrupting an important phone call - Quoted for a smart solar switch, despite us already having one - We requested an energy audit, however all we got was some generic recommendations like 'seal around your doors' - Requested that the quote include an inverter that can talk to our EV via ChargeHQ (allows the car to charge only on excess solar). Ben did not seem to know about this technology and ignored my request to refine the quote.

Have used HEG for my solar panels, under floor insulation and now an inverter upgrade plus battery. I have found them reliable and helpful although scheduling seems to be a bit of an issue probably due to the actual installers not being part of HEG. Pricing is not usually the best deal but I think it is important to support local companies. Happy with my latest purchase a Fox ess 23kwh battery and 6 kw inverter. Neat job and it has completely removed the evening and morning electricity peaks. We are now completely free of fossil fuels going fully electric with everything, house car lawnmowers etc plus saving money. Will all our investments pay off , debatable but definitely will fix our costs for the next 10 years.

Have engaged HEG twice now for a replacement Heat Pump and a house Solar Inverter - very fast and efficient and their installers/electricians have been excellent - and this from myself who has been in the electrical/communications industry for 40 odd years and have seen a vast array of technicians etc.👍
