Hot Water Maintenance - Wollongong, Illawarra & South Coast

I organised a DUX hot water system replacement through Bunnings for my elderly mother and Hot Water Maintenance were the subcontractors tasked with the install. They inspected the premises on Monday morning and said that it looks OK and they should be able to install it in the next couple of days after their supervisor checks their report. I waited 2 days and heard nothing back, so called them and was told that they were on the road and would call me back later in the day. I didn't hear back so on the following day I called back again, only to be told that Bunnings underquoted the install and that they are going to cancel the job. I got the feeling that they only want to do easy outdoor installs on flat ground; as soon as there is a driveway or stairs on the route to where the tank goes then it becomes too much effort for them. They strung me along for a week and decided to cancel the job right before the Easter long weekend when I'm not going to be able to find an alternative. I wonder how many more days or weeks they would have kept me waiting if I didn't chase them? I have complained to Bunnings and they are very disappointed with Hot Water Maintenance's poor customer service. They told me that customers are normally advised of the install timeline and / or problems on the same day of the inspection; they were shocked that I was kept in the dark for days only to have the job cancelled. My mother has now been left with facing a 4 day long weekend without hot water (on top of the 2 weeks she has already been without hot water) and now I have to chase Bunnings for a refund. I'm absolutely furious about the situation 😡

I was quoted by another company from Millperra, $6000 for a Rheem Gas hot water system. I was in tears wondering how I could afford to pay that for a hot water system. I called HWM & was quoted $2500 for the very same system supplied and installed. Because I didn’t have hot water my old system was completely gone .. Frank rearranged the schedule so that he could have my system delivered and installed within a few hours . This company has good old fashioned values to look after their customers and not just the monetary gain . I definitely will be sticking with them for my future plumbing needs … there are real crooks out there & it’s good to stick with the real deal .
