JR Gas and Water

We needed to replace our old gas continuous hot water system as it had past its prime. As we don’t have power to our existing unit we had to try and find the same or like unit. Luckily JR Gas and Water could source the right unit and install for a very reasonable price! It was daunting doing an online purchase/quote but they were clear and precise with their quoting. Our technician Joshua was bang on time and professional getting the job done with no issues. Very happy with the service!

Had my old Rheem heat pump replaced by this pump. JR Gas and water installer (Jordan) was on time professional informative and all round very excellent and all installed and working within 90 minutes. Ordering and payment were simple. The staff called to check the installation details so no surprises or problems the next day. The heat pump is awesome. The water heated quickly so very cheap to run. Setting up the clock and controlling the timer simple. Would highly recommend both JR Gas but without doubt this Rheem heat pump. Fortunately, with their excellent warranty and construction I doubt I will need to get a new one for 20 years!

I had an ongoing issue with my LPG storage hot water system, including delayed ignition, loud popping sounds during startup, and excessive burner noise. Although the problem was not resolved on the first visit, I really appreciated that JR Gas and Water stood behind their work. They responded promptly to my follow-up, arranged another inspection, and were committed to finding the actual cause instead of simply dismissing the issue. A special thank you to Kris, who took the time to systematically troubleshoot the heater. He carefully inspected the pilot assembly, checked the gas controller, and eventually identified the source of the problem. After replacing the controller with the correct LPG unit, the heater now ignites immediately and operates smoothly without the previous loud popping or roaring noise. I also appreciate Jarred for honouring the warranty work and ensuring the issue was properly resolved rather than taking shortcuts. While the diagnosis took more than one visit, what impressed me most was their professionalism, willingness to return, and determination to fix the problem properly. It's reassuring to deal with a company that stands behind its workmanship and doesn't walk away when things don't go perfectly the first time. I would happily recommend JR Gas and Water to anyone looking for an honest and reliable gas plumbing service.

This morning, JR Gas & Water replaced our original Chromagen solar hot water system with two solar collector panels (installed when our home was built) with a new iStore 270L heat pump hot water system, and we couldn't be happier with the service. Our appointment window started at 5:30 am, and Ruan and his partner arrived at 6:50 am, exactly within the expected 1.5-hour arrival window before the 7:00 am installation. Ruan and his partner were professional, friendly, and efficient. They removed the old system and installed the new iStore 270L heat pump hot water system smoothly and neatly. Their workmanship was excellent, they kept everything clean throughout the job, and they left the work area spotless when they finished. We've already noticed a difference. The water is nice and hot, and hot water reaches the taps much faster than it did with our old Chromagen system. It's a noticeable improvement, and so far we're very impressed with the performance of the new iStore 270L. A big thank you to Ruan and his partner for a fantastic installation. JR Gas and Water - highly recommended. When our heat pump finally gave up over the weekend after 10+ years of service, I contacted several plumbers. Some weren’t willing to service the Redlands area, while others couldn’t provide pricing or install time-frames. I reviewed the JR Gas and Water website - and it was like ordering from Amazon. All the options listed. Chose a similar brand to the previous unit (Stiebel Eltron - but the newer version with wifi option). Just to be sure before booking, I did give them a call and Jarred was helpful in outlining options. The quoted price was also lower than a local estimate I had finally received, where I was advised the final cost could blow out (and no set delivery/install times). Once purchased, I received a message that installation was scheduled for the next day. The day of install, the heat pump arrived early in the morning while the install team arrived shortly after - 'Charlie' and assistant (apologies, forgot his name) - outstanding. The installation wasn’t straightforward due to the location near pool equipment and existing pipework, but they managed to do it in such a small area. See before and after photos. Would happily use JR Gas and Water again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a hot water system/heat pump install. Will use them again. 10/10.
